Effective September 27, 2022, FedNat Insurance Company (“Company” or “FedNat”) was ordered into liquidation by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida. The Florida Department of Financial Services (“Department” or “Receiver”) is the court appointed receiver for the Company. Copies of the Liquidation Order and other relevant information are available on the Department’s website, https://www.myfloridacfo.com/division/receiver/.
With the entry of the liquidation order, the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (“FIGA”) has been activated to help pay outstanding Florida claims for property and casualty policies for FedNat policies. The processing and payment of covered claims will be made by FIGA (subject to the lesser of policy limits or FIGA’s maximum cap). The maximum amount FIGA will cover is generally $300,000 per claim. An additional $200,000 is available for structures and contents on homeowners’ claims. No claim will be paid in excess of this cap. Policies assumed by Monarch
Prior to liquidation, Monarch National Insurance Company (“Monarch”) assumed the obligations for approximately 78,000 FedNat Florida policies as of June 1, 2022. Policyholders with questions regarding Monarch should visit the company’s website at https://www.monarchnational.com or contact the company directly at (800) 293-2532 or uwinfo@monarchnational.com.

The Department is currently gathering claim files and claim data to forward the information to FIGA. As a result, there may be a delay in claim processing during this transitional period. Until further notice, please use the contact information below to check the status of an existing claim, report a new claim, or reopen a claim.

To REOPEN an existing claim previously handled by an insolvent company, email FIGA at nclaim@agfgroup.org or fax (850) 523-1888. You will need to provide the following information:
- Policyholder’s Name
- Policy Number
- Claim Number (Reopen only)
- Date of Loss
- Brief description of the loss
- Requestors best contact information (email & phone)
- If other than policyholder reporting, please attach the letter of representation or the assignment of benefits contract
- For Loss Assessment claims, we need the Board approved Assessment Letter along with the breakdown of assessment charges that is being billed to the policyholder
