NAIC Number:11853
Claim Deadline: August 8, 2023

Policy Cancellation Date: September 7, 2022

Effective August 8, 2022, Weston Property & Casualty Insurance Company (“Company” or “Weston”) was ordered into liquidation by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida. The Florida Department of Financial Services (“Department” or “Receiver”) is the court appointed receiver for the Company. Copies of the Liquidation Order and other relevant information are available on the Department’s website, https://www.myfloridacfo.com/division/receiver/.

With the entry of the liquidation order, the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (“FIGA”) has been activated to help pay outstanding Florida claims for property and casualty policies.  The processing and payment of covered claims will be made by FIGA (subject to the lesser of policy limits or FIGA’s maximum cap). The maximum amount FIGA will cover is generally $300,000 per claim.  An additional $200,000 is available for structures and contents on homeowners’ claims.  No claim will be paid in excess of this cap. For more information on FIGA’s claim handling see the FAQ section of this website.

Return of Unearned Premium:
FIGA will pay unearned premium claims after the Receiver completes its processing of the policy records and sends the unearned premium records to FIGA. FIGA has received a majority of the unearned premium records from the Receiver and has started processing the checks for disbursement. We are working with the Receiver to obtain the necessary information for the remaining records which consist of refund records payable to premium finance companies, management companies, and condo associations. Policyholders should expect funds payments for this final batch within one to two weeks.  In order to prevent any interruption in coverage for Weston’s policyholders, our team is available to assist with any hardship requests and can be contacted at (850) 386-9200.

Consumer/Claim Calls:

Until further notice, policyholders with questions regarding Weston should continue to visit the company’s website at Weston Property & Casualty Insurance Company (weston-ins.com) or contact the company directly at (877)505-3040 for customer service.  Policyholders may also call (877)505-3040 or email  claims@Weston-ins.com for claims inquiries.
